Severe Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW): A Journey of Skin Healing and Progress

This patient has struggled with eczema since early childhood, with a history of allergies and asthma. Over the years, she received various corticosteroid treatments, including topical, oral, and intravenous steroids.

After several years of relatively clear skin, her eczema returned severely following a skin infection in 2023. She subsequently experienced significant inflammation and symptoms associated with topical steroid withdrawal (TSW).

Seeking a different approach, she began individualized Chinese herbal medicine care through Mū Dān Holistic Health.

Although her treatment is still ongoing, her progress so far has been encouraging. Her follow-up photographs show visible reductions in widespread redness and inflammation, particularly across her face and legs.

She continues to experience areas of irritation, and there is still work to be done. However, these photographs document the progress she has made so far as she continues her individualized care.

This is an ongoing patient case, not a completed treatment. Individual results vary, and improvements cannot be attributed to one treatment based on photographs alone.
